Location: Long Eaton, DE74
Our client, based near Long Eaton is looking for an experienced Registered Nurse to join their team. You will work alongside the Clinical Managers and Support Workers to provide high standards of care for the residents of their acute mental health setting, you will have experience of Acute Mental Health or PICU settings.
The Registered Nurse must have a valid NMC PIN and experience working in a similar setting. Deliver high-quality nursing and residential care services in a 30 bedded Acute Mental Health setting, supporting the Management Team to lead by example.
-Support the Registered Manager and Clinical Manager to deliver high-quality care services to residents
-Ensure care meets the requirements of the Health & Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) --Regulations 2010 and the Care Quality Commission guidance ‘Essential Standards of Quality & Safety’
-Champion client safety and dignity
-Responsible for drug administration
-Manage, report and document complaints/ untoward incidents within the unit, including accidents and report to senior staff
-Responsible for maintaining comprehensive, up to date and accurate records.
-Responsible for identifying areas of clinical risk, reporting incidents and taking preventative action to ensure residents needs are being met.
-Understand, and have experience of, the care planning process and how to write effective Care Plans
-Able to effectively manage difficult situations with tact, diplomacy and compassion, especially with resident’s friends and family
-To assist with stock control, ordering, storage, safeguard and administration of medicines including Controlled Drugs with the Unit and to report any discrepancy immediately
-Practice and promote the specific approaches to care e.g. Rehabilitation, Mental Health/ Person Centred Care, DBT informed practice. To include the promotion of individuality, freedom of choice and the importance of privacy and dignity for all residents
The ideal candidate
-Must have a clinical background and a valid NMC PIN
-Minimum of 2 years’ experience as an RMN in a similar setting
-Sound knowledge and experience working within Mental Health/Acute/PICU settings
-Experience of DBT informed practice
-Nurses must have completed their perceptorship
-Right to work in the UK
-NVQ3/SVQ3 in Health and Social Care or higher
-Possess excellent organisational, written and verbal communication skills
-Knowledge of health and safety matters relating to home care services and risk management
-Administrative skills and computer literacy with a strong focus on attention to detail and accuracy
-Hands-on team member
-Experience of discharge planning
-Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service
-Must be able to provide 5 years of satisfactory references pertinent to the role

£37,000 - £42,000 depending on experience and qualifications
